Come with us to discover the desert in southern Morocco. During your trekking in the desert of Morocco you will have the opportunity to walk for several hours in the middle of splendid landscapes in the palm grove and oasis of the Draa Valley.

The program of our trekking in the desert of Morocco is easy and accessible to all those who have some training in walking. Desert trekking is the best way to discover the sublime landscapes of the desert, off the beaten track.

We’ll be leaving Marrakech for a week’s desert trekking in southern Morocco, including 4 days’ walking. Like the nomads, following the peaceful rhythm of the camels, we will cross the most beautiful landscapes of southern Morocco. You’ll discover the magic of the Sahara and its nights studded with thousands of stars.

Desert Trekking Morocco is also an exceptional experience that will give you time to reflect on the simple, essential things in life. Following the tranquil footsteps of the camels, we’ll take time to appreciate the beauty of the golden dunes and shimmering stone deserts.

Discover your journey day by day

Departure from Marrakech early morning. Cross the High Atlas via the Tichka Pass (2,260m), heading south through breathtaking scenery. Pass through Zagora and ksars before reaching the Beni Ali plateau, where the camel caravan awaits. Night in tents under the stars.

Departure from Beni Ali after our first breakfast in the wilderness. We'll head down the Drâa valley, amid a profusion of palm trees. To the right the greenery of the oases and to the left arid plateaus. We'll have lunch at Imi n'Taqquat, in the shade of the tall tamarisk trees at the mouth of the Oued Drâa and at the foot of the Djebel Bani mountains. During the day, we'll meet lots of children and cross the Draa river. It's a 5-hour walk. Bivouac and overnight in tents.

We discover the charming Berber villages of Ignaoun and Moulay Ali Achrif. Lunch will be prepared by our cook in the middle of an oasis of palm trees. After an hour's walk, we reach the golden dunes of Bou Gaiware. We'll have a 5-hour walk on this third day and spend the night in tents.

We follow the camel trail across the Oued Drâa to reach the village of Zaouiat Sidi Salah. We'll have lunch on the outskirts of the village, in the middle of the oasis, and have the chance to meet the locals. Our camp for the night is at the foot of the great Tidri dune. We walk for 5 hours and spend the night in tents.

We continue our descent along the Oued Drâa through sumptuous desert landscapes. Lunch is planned near the village of Ergabi. In the afternoon, we cross the village and oasis of Ergabi to reach the village of Oulad Adriss. We'll walk for 5 hours 30 minutes and spend the night in tents.

Last day of our desert trek in Morocco. The return to Marrakech via the Drâa Valley road and the Tizi'n Tichka pass. There are around 460 km. There will be a few stops along the way, before arriving in Marrakech.
